Jetour Traveller 7 Hits Showrooms From 125,900 Yuan: Petrol and Plug-In Hybrid Box SUV

Jetour has launched the new Traveller 7, a mid-size box-shaped SUV that is the first model in the line to cover petrol and plug-in hybrid power within the same price band. Official guide prices run from 139,900 to 179,900 yuan, with launch promotional pricing starting at 125,900 yuan. The maker reported 10,000 firm orders within 30 minutes of the launch event.

Two ways to power the same shape

Petrol versions use either a 1.5-litre turbo with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission or a 2.0-litre Kunpeng turbo rated at 187 kW and 390 Nm, available with a seven-speed dual-clutch or an eight-speed automatic. The C-DM plug-in hybrid pairs the Kunpeng 1.5TD with a 45.12 kWh CATL battery for up to 251 km of CLTC electric range and more than 1,400 km combined, with claimed combined fuel consumption as low as 1.08 litres per 100 km and 6.6 kW vehicle-to-load output for camping.

Hardware that still works off the tarmac

  • XWD fully automatic intelligent all-wheel drive with an energy centre lock and electronically controlled dog-tooth differential locks
  • 7+X one-touch off-road modes that identify the terrain automatically
  • 220 mm ground clearance, 700 mm wading depth, 27-degree approach and 30-degree departure angles
  • Integrated embedded frame with a cage body using 81 per cent high-strength steel
  • 1.6-tonne towing capacity

Softer styling, sharper cockpit

The exterior was reworked under former Jaguar Land Rover design director Andrew Colinson, trading the old squared-off face for retro circular headlights with a horizon light strip and body-coloured wheel arches and bumpers. Inside, a column shifter frees space for a 15.6-inch 2.5K central screen running the Lingxi TOUR OS on a Snapdragon 8255 chip with 24 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, backed by an iFlytek Spark AI model. Twelve-layer seats, heated and ventilated front seats with massage, a 23-speaker Boya audio system, a 64-inch panoramic sunroof and 256-colour ambient lighting are all available.

Assisted driving, then more later

Petrol versions ship with the Falcon 500 suite built on a Horizon Journey 6M chip and a 3R11V12U sensor layout, covering highway NOA, full-scene parking assist and AEB or AES emergency functions. Jetour has confirmed that a version of the C-DM using Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 with map-free city NOA and space-to-space pilot will follow.

A strong base to build on

Jetour sold 57,497 vehicles in September, with the Traveller family contributing 23,644 units, a 101.4 per cent year-on-year increase, and its box-shaped models have now passed 10,000 monthly sales for 31 consecutive months. Global cumulative sales stand at 2.56 million, of which over 800,000 are box-bodied models and 600,000 are Traveller-family cars.
