BYD Da Han Goes on Sale From 235,900 Yuan: 1,008 km Range, Air Suspension and Rear-Wheel Steering

BYD has launched the Da Han, a new flagship sedan for its Dynasty series, priced from 235,900 to 275,900 yuan. Three versions are offered: a 1,008 km rear-wheel-drive lidar Premium, a 1,008 km rear-wheel-drive lidar Flagship and an 880 km all-wheel-drive lidar Flagship. It is the first major Dynasty sedan since the family passed ten million cumulative sales.

Full-size dimensions, limousine cabin

The body runs beyond 5.2 metres in length on a wheelbase past 3.1 metres (5,256 x 1,999 x 1,510 mm, wheelbase 3,130 mm). BYD claims the single-piece 2.41-metre full-width daytime running light is the longest on any production car, and the floating wheel badges are weighted so the Han character stays upright while driving.

  • Interior space efficiency of 90.8 per cent, with dual zero-gravity front seats
  • 31 Devialet speakers in a 7.1.4 layout, plus eight screens including a 17.3-inch rear ceiling display
  • 40-inch AR-HUD and a 12.3-inch passenger display up front
  • Rear "president" seat with four-way leg rest, 90-degree footrest and 12-degree powered backrest
  • PDLC dimming glass shared with the Yangwang U8L, switching from clear to opaque in a second

1,008 kilometres, and a five-minute top-up

The second-generation Blade battery takes the rear-wheel-drive versions to a 1,008 km CLTC rating, helped by a drag coefficient of 0.197 that earned the car a 2026 Low-Drag Model award from China's automotive aerodynamics branch. Flash charging is standard: 10 to 70 per cent in five minutes and 10 to 97 per cent in nine minutes, with only about three minutes added at minus 30 degrees celsius. BYD expects 20,000 flash-charge stations to be online by year-end.

Chassis hardware usually reserved for more expensive cars

Every version gets Yun-nian A dual-chamber air suspension with 100 mm of ride-height adjustment and a rear-wheel steering system turning up to seven degrees in either direction, which brings the turning radius down to 4.95 metres despite the length. Rear-wheel-drive cars reach 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, while the all-wheel-drive version does it in 3.3 seconds.

Driver assistance and safety

God's Eye B with lidar is standard across the range, covering highway pilot, city pilot and full-scene automated parking, with a one-year commitment covering both parking and city pilot use. BYD lists 196 standard features. Safety equipment includes a high-speed tyre-burst stability system, eleven airbags, a body using more than 87 per cent high-strength steel and aluminium, and a heavy-rain parking guard that raises the suspension and alerts the owner through the app if water levels around the car rise.

An onboard AI assistant handles conversation, route planning and tasks such as hotel booking. The Han lineage itself dates back to 2020 and has now passed one million cumulative units, breaking a segment long dominated by joint-venture brands.
