High-level intelligent driving systems from Chinese brands are quickly moving from luxury models to mid-range mass-market cars. Huawei ADS, XPeng NGP, Li Auto AD Max and Changan Tianshu pilot systems support highway NOA, urban NCA, automatic emergency braking and memory parking.
These Chinese self-developed intelligent driving solutions use lidar, 4D millimeter-wave radars and high-definition cameras. They are trained on massive local road datasets, so they perform better on complex Chinese city roads than many foreign assistant systems.
It is important to remind drivers that current NCA and NOA functions are Level 2+ assisted driving, not fully autonomous driving. The driver must stay alert and take responsibility at all times. As Chinese automakers keep upgrading perception hardware and AI algorithms, smart driving will become one of the biggest selling points of Chinese passenger cars.
