BYD Accelerates European Ultra-Fast Charging Rollout to Support EV Adoption

ris, Oct. 22 — BYD has unveiled its charging expansion roadmap at the Paris Auto Show, targeting 3,000 ultra-fast charging stations across Europe by the end of 2027. The automaker plans to install the first batch of 100 flash chargers before 2026 closes, covering major highway corridors, service areas and urban hubs in Western and Central Europe.

The new chargers support peak power up to 500 kW, enabling compatible electric vehicles to gain around 300 km of driving range within 10 minutes. Company executives noted that charging anxiety remains one of the top barriers slowing EV sales in Europe. The self-operated charging network will be open to most brands instead of restricting access only to BYD vehicles.

Industry analysts commented that the move helps BYD build an ecosystem advantage beyond car sales amid intensifying competition with Tesla, Volkswagen and local European EV brands. Stable charging networks are expected to lift consumer confidence and lift BYD’s regional delivery volume in the next two years.
