2027 Lynk & Co 08 EM-P Adds a 192-Line Lidar and 508 TOPS Ahead of 5 November Launch

Lynk & Co will launch the 2027 08 EM-P in China on 5 November, and this is a facelift with an unusually large amount of hardware behind it. The body is untouched at 4,825 mm long, 1,915 mm wide and 1,660 mm tall on a 2,848 mm wheelbase, but the sensor suite is not. The current car's lidar has been replaced by a 192-line unit, and the assistance stack moves to Geely's Qianli Haohan H7, run on a pair of Orin-X chips with 508 TOPS between them.

Same silhouette, sharper details

The changes outside are subtle: a new light element in the headlamps that Lynk calls Starry River, a redesigned rear spoiler, a brand badge on the black fender insert, and a new Vibrant Orange paint option. The split headlamp treatment, flush door handles and the roof-mounted lidar integrated with the panoramic glass all carry over. Inside there is a new Warm Sand Gold colour, a 15.4-inch 2.5K centre screen on a Snapdragon 8295 chip running Flyme Auto 2, and a small animated robot display above the screen that reacts to vehicle status.

The hardware upgrade is the reason this facelift exists. With the H7 stack and two Orin-X processors, the car supports end-to-end models and a vision-language model, and Lynk claims full door-to-door navigation assist rather than highway-only. That means city streets, car parks and the transition between them, which is where most assistance systems still fall apart. Whether the software is finished at launch is another question, and Chinese buyers have learned to read the fine print on which cities are covered on day one.

The short-range battery is gone

Lynk has simplified the line-up by dropping the 160 km version, so every 08 EM-P now has more than 200 km of electric range. The single-motor car produces a combined 300 kW with 230 km of CLTC electric range and 5.5 litres per 100 km with the battery depleted. The dual-motor version makes 456 kW, runs 210 km on electricity and uses 6.0 litres per 100 km. Both use the same 1.5T petrol engine as a generator and, at speed, as a direct drive.

Comfort upgrades and the price question

The passenger seat is now a zero-gravity item with an extending leg rest, and all front seats are heated, ventilated and massaged. The front headrests come off so the seats fold flat into a bed with the rear bench, a trick that has become a selling point for campers. The current 08 EM-P lists at 175,800 to 228,800 yuan with a benefit price from 158,800 yuan, and the new car is expected to hold that band. It competes with the BYD Tang DM-i, the Deepal S07 and the Leapmotor C16, all of which have been adding range and screens at the same pace.
